Here is a prime example of Corporate Rape, people.

We cancelled our DirecTV account, and they sent us a box for the cable boxes. Well, other things came up, and we forgot to return them.

Imagine my surprise when I go to my checking account to check on another bill, and I find a $98 charge from DirecTV. A charge I did not authorize.

Well, it seems, somewhere in the fine print of DirecTV's contract, it says they will auto-debt on final bill. Naturally, that is not something that is right up front.

Such a thing used to be illegal. Well folks, it isn't, anymore.

They will refund the money when we return the boxes. They're lucky I don't find a rocket to launch them on right up their asses.

I will never get their service again, and I advise anyone else reading this to reevaluate if it would suit them better to go with another company - but before you do, ask them if that clause is in THEIR fine print.

I feel the same way about the Early Termination Fee I'm forced to pay to AT&T, because I couldn't connect to their crappy 3G network 9 out of 10 times.

I had a monthly limit of 5GB. In 9 months time, I was able to use 1MB. 1MB total for the 9 months.

I told them all that, they sympathized, but in the end I still have to pay it. And it sucks.

That auto-debt crap is bullSH**! Can't believe they would take money from the acct without your authorization.. That would tick me off to no end. having anxiety thinkin' about it!

I know the feeling-I had one phone company and decided to get another as the first was rather unreliable. Had it all set up and they said okay you're all set...my phone never came on with the new number. Waited and called over and over for a month and got the the tech came out there should be nothing wrong with it-still no dial tone no phone service. Went back to the initial company and was immediately turned on. The second company charged me for a month of service and a service call which I never received. I ended up just paying it because they put it in collections...
