Looked at the new house

It is beautiful, it is bigger, newer, and will suit our needs so much better than what we have now.

I'm still waiting to hear from the lawyer about a subject, though.

There are tax liens on this house for taxes we couldn't pay because of all the mufty-pufty. A lender is claiming those liens would follow me to the new house because a mobile home is considered "personal property".

The last we've heard from Bette and her lawyer consists of a single sheet of paper which says she was given the house on January 1, 2007. It is signed without a name printed below and it is not witnessed nor notarized.

Now here's my quandary -

I have a friend willing to cover those taxes for me and then I would pay them back. However, if Ms. Goldenring is claiming she was "given" the house in January 2007, that means that a grave mistake was made and it should have been put in her name - not mine. That also means that I do not owe those taxes, she does.

So, what I'm waiting to hear from the lawyer is whether I should have those taxes paid so I can go ahead and get out of here, leaving Norman and Bette to duke it out - or if we should press that she get the place in her name, making her liable for the back taxes, and taking them out of my name.

I can't wait very long. If there are any paralegals out there who wish to give a completely free and unbinding opinion, have at it.

I hope it works out for you guys. Going through so much bullshit, you need a good break.

Good luck!

That is precisely why I am doing all I can to get out of here.

This house is "contested". You can feel it. Not only that, but as I've said in posts past, we've found things wrong with it that may indeed make it unable to be moved.

The new one is in excellent shape and could be moved to our own land in the future.

*hugs you tight* keep sending positive thoughts and thank you for what you have sent.

Oh - and another thing - I called this damned lawyer's office today and made it clear that their answer for me was time-sensitive, so the legal aide sent him a text. Well he didn't seem to think I was worth answering, so I'm going on what my gut tells me. My gut is never wrong.

Gonna pay off the taxes and scram.

I'm not a paralegal, I'm just going on what my witchy sense is telling me here and since my guide won't shut the fuck up about this, I'm passing this info along....

There is something about that house you are in now that is downright toxic. Its preventing both of you to do the work you are meant to do. It is no coincidence that Nebs has had the difficulties he's had in working on his writing, or that you've had two experiences with Sisters that failed. As long as you guys stay there, you will constantly be doing the "one step forward, two steps back" dance.

You guys know this is difficult work and there will, of course, be further challenges for you. But it is imperative that you get yourselves into an environment where there won't be barriers to the flow of energy - to YOUR flow.

I can't pin what is specifically wrong with that house, but I feel this almost overwhelming sense of wrongness to it. My gut says the only solution would be to burn the place to the ground, but I don't see that happening. I find it kinda creepy that two people would want this house so badly as to fuck with you guys and fight for it...why when its so WRONG? But then again, maybe they are "wrong" too and there's a reason why they are drawn to the wrongness of this house.

Let them have it. Let their lives go to shit while you are in a better place, manifesting good things.

For what it's worth, that would explain why we never fully unpacked and still have boxes sitting around.

I just said this to Nebs: When we moved in, there was a hole in the window in the back part of the kitchen. It looked like it could've been a bullet hole. What if someone was murdered in this house?

It just feels really bad around here, especially after the Oathbreaker left. We've fully saged the joint 3 nights in a row and it still feels "wrong".

I once lived in a house that, despite my best witchy efforts, could NOT feel right. The basement was downright creepy. It was so creepy that I could only bear to go down there to do laundry during daylight hours. My dog abjectly refused to go down there under any circumstances.

I saged the fuck out of that place. Finally, in desperation, I called a few of my witchy friends and they all converged one night. We tried our best...and it culminated in one friend channeling this really nasty asshole who once owned the house. He looked me dead in the eye and demanded scotch. When I told him I did not have any, he told me to make sure I had some when he came by next. He point blank told me he was NOT leaving and that as long as he had say-so there would be no < insert racist diatribe > setting foot in this house.

I was all too happy to get the fuck out of that house.

I'm not quite sure but paying the taxes is an admission of something and could leave you liable for something or another (back rent I suspect.) If the taxes aren't in your name then leave them, if they are you should contact the tax office and make an effort to pay them though you are going to need money for surveying, inspection and deed search on the new property (I think the last requires a lawyer) usually it runs around $2000.00 but it may have gone up in the last decade. You definately want a clear deed this time and clear property lines etc.

The mobile home is in the same park we're in, so there's no property to survey. As far as all the other things, a title search is free to realtors, and I believe $35 to everyone else. It's a little different with a mobile home as they are titled rather than deeded.

Another mobile home in the same park? Are you sure you want to go that way? Mobiles are great cheap housing but they do tend become a money pit once they get a little older.
